LaMar's New Book- Off-Grid Solar Power!

Ever since writing Simple Solar Homesteading I have wanted to write a book dedicated just to designing and installing Off-Grid Solar systems.

I have read many books on solar but most dealt with grid tied system and gave very little help for the do-it-yourselfers. They also included very complex formulas for sizing a system that most people could not understand and were not useful to Off-Grid homesteaders.

So I have now written that book and it is available  for $5 as an ebook.

The ebook is 71 pages with complete step by step instructions for doing a home energy audit, sizing your system, choosing equipment, and sources. All pictures are direct links so you can find equipment easily.

I focus on reducing energy needs by using alternative fuels like propane, wood, and natural gas and include information for using a generator and wind power as well.

You can order the new ebook directly from my website and for the rest of January 2010 when you order one of my books you get the second one free!

The new cheaper solar panels are here!

When I started using solar power 15 years ago it was way expensive and out of reach for most people but that has now changed and solar is very affordable for most homes.

Panels, controllers, and batteries are also improved and last longer and produce more power than ever!

I recently upgraded my system to 470 watts with a very affordable and well built 120 watt panel from solartech:

How to have a home with no house payments and no utility bills!

What would you do if you had no house payments or rent and no utility bills ?

Would you travel the world, write that fantastic novel, help your kids more, invest in your retirement, or maybe go back to school ?

Well I am here to tell you that it is completely possible to have a home with no house payments and no utility bills and it can be done very inexpensively!

I live very comfortably in a home I designed and built for under $2000, I use a sloar electric system purchased for under $3000, and I use propane for my appliances which costs under $200 a year.

I now have the financial freedom to do all those things I ever wanted to do and even though I do not make a lot of money I don't need a lot and can spend it on the things I enjoy.
